Last week I drove to Munich for a couple of meetings. Depending on traffic the drive usually takes me a about 90 minutes. Which means: plenty of time to catch up on my favorite podcasts! The episodes I listened to were so good that I’m still thinking about them days later and feel like you should know about them, too.
My favorite podcast episodes
Two amazing women were on the Being Boss, the podcast for creative entrepreneurs. Marie Forleo, founder of B-School, talks about productivity and the importance of daily rituals for being successful. In the second interview my favorite Hollywood Housewife Laura Tremaine gives honest insights into her creative life as a former blogger, current podcaster, and not-yet book author.
The Mom Hour interviewed Erin Loechner about her newly released book Chasing Slow. I read the book a few weeks ago and was really interested in hearing Erin talk about the writing process. Now I’m re-reading it. Slowly this time, with a pen next to me so that I can easily underline and take notes.
On my all-time favorite podcast Sorta Awesome Megan and her co-host Kelly talk politics. They share their thoughts on Trump’s first attempt to ban immigration and how this affects the country’s refugee program. It was interesting and insightful to hear the perspective and thoughts of people who are actually living in America in the Trump „era“.
I also enjoyed Laura Tremaine’s interview on viral content with a Buzzfeed editor. And this episode on personality strengths.
And for those of you who are looking for something to listen to in German: I highly recommend, once again, the Eigenstimmig podcast. I really enjoyed these two interviews with a plus-size model and a freelance journalist who publishes her own online magazine.
How to listen to podcasts
You don’t really know how to listen to podcasts? It’s really easy and there are also several ways to do it. On an iPhone you can listen to podcasts with the app of the same name. The app allows you to subscribe to and also download your favorite podcasts so that you can listen offline, too. You can also always listen directly from the website of the podcast. This gives you the opportunity to look at the show notes right away. They are always useful for resources and links mentioned on the show. And then there’s Stitcher, an Internet radio service which is recommended everywhere, but I still need to give it a try. Stitcher allows you to listen to your favorite shows on your desktop or phone (the app is available for Mac and Android).
So tell me: what are your favorite podcasts or favorite podcast episodes? Are there any good German podcasts out there that I need to know about?
I LOVE podcasts. My most favorite one is from Elise Blaha Cribe „Elise gets crafty“ unfortunately she is taking a break currently. I also like „Creative Start“ and Tiffany Han’s „Raise your Hand and say Yes“. Another one I listen to is „Accidental Creative“ Thank you for your recommendation I will check them out. It’s always good to have more podcasts in the list.
Happy Friday
Tobia
Thank you, Tobia, for these recommendations! I will definitely check them out! Have you ever listened to „After the Jump“ by Grace Bonney (Design Sponge)? It’s so good! She’s been taking a break for more than 2 years now but I’m still hoping that there will be a new season soon.
Have a great weekend :-)
Tina
No I don’t know that one but you already got me hooked on „Being Boss“. So please no more recommendations ;-P
