Blog Big in München

Oktober 2018 statt. Das Thema? Deine Marke.

Blogst in Köln

ALT Summit in Palm Springs / Kalifornien

Und was soll ich sagen: I was blown away!

Blogfamilia / 5. Mai 2018 / Berlin

Rock the Blog / 15. Juni 2018 / Hannover

In Frankfurt. Und wem hört sie zu? Sheryl Sandberg.

Aha.

Psst!

In München natürlich.

Handlettering Workshop, Burghausen – Anfang Januar 2018

Münchner Mom Blogger Treffen im Kinderkunsthaus – Januar 2018

kreatives Networking Retreat in Schleswig-Holstein – Februar 2018

Leipziger Buchmesse – 15.-18.

Liebe Leserin, lieber Leser: Bist Du dabei?

UPDATE May 2020: Listen to my interview with the organizer of the challenge, Anne Häusler!

Are you on Instagram? If not you missed something really fun! Anne Häusler’s #meetthebloggerde challenge. During this 2-week-long challenge Anne asked 14 questions and all German bloggers were invited to answer them on their Instagram account. Which I did. Along with hundreds of other German bloggers. I had so much fun to not only post consistently and to come up with photo ideas every single day. But I also loved the feedback from my followers, old and new, and I discovered quite a few new blogs and inspiring Instagram accounts.

So here are the 14 questions with my photos and answers – especially put-together for my English-speaking readers and those blog readers who are not on Instagram yet. And at the end of the post I’ll reveal my 3 favorite new blog discoveries!

The 2017 Instagram challenge #meetthebloggerde

1 – About me

My name is Tina and on my blog I’ve been sharing my personal journey of adjusting to life in Germany after 5 years in the United States. You also find a lot of information and interviews about expat life in the US. In addition I’m on a mission to inspire my blog readers to listen to podcasts while I also frequently share my love for coffee with them.

When I don’t write for my blog, I translate, write and research for a living. Very soon I’m also going to add „teaching English“ to my list of services. I’ve been a freelancer for only 4 months now and often feel overwhelmed: projects get cancelled over night, but then at the same time I need to watch my finances carefully because of taxes and health insurance issues. I’ve embraced the underestimated power of online connections. And I’ve learned to trust my gut when it comes to accepting an offer or not. On top of that I’m always always struggling to find the right balance between „working Tina“ and „mom Tina“.

2 – What I blog about

I wish the answer to this question would be easy and straightforward. Unfortunately, it’s not. I used to write mainly about our expat life. But since I’m no longer an expat, I’m kind of stuck in the mud. I have many topics I’m interested in, but so far hardly anything is really dear and close to my heart. I promise that I will keep looking for the gold, but <del>when</del> if I will find it, only heaven knows…

3 – My biggest success as a blogger

How do I define success? If I only take likes, visits, comments, and followers into account, my blog wouldn’t be considered to be successful. But numbers don’t play a big role in my life. It’s people and personal connections that matter. When I reach and meet people who share my interests and who I would have never ever met without my blog, that’s success for me. An example? Jonna from Expatmamas :-)

4 – My logo

I only know that my blog and my business can’t be separated from my name. That’s one of the reasons why I chose my name when I registered this domain 3 years ago. I also didn’t want to limit myself topic-wise by chosing a blog name that was related to my life abroad. Knowing already that my life as an expat would come to an end sooner or later. Now I’m dreaming of my name written in handlettering or calligraphy, spiced up with a touch of turquoise. And I can tell you now: this dream may come true pretty soon!

6 – What inspires me

People and their personal stories which they share on blogs, podcasts and social media, in articles and books. I love to share these sources of inspirations with my blog readers in my more or less bi-weekly Friday Link Love series. My wish is to inspire my readers with my online finds. And this might also be the main reason of why I write a blog: I want to invite my readers to be curious, to think things through, to look beyond, to risk / hear / read / listen to something new.

… FUN! And that’s why I mainly use Instagram. Here I can share my passion for photography, I get inspired while browsing through my feed, and I also meet so many like-minded people. A look into my photos file tells me though that I could (and should) post more often – there are so many good pictures that have never appeared in my feed. Apart from Instagram I’m also using Facebook on a regular basis, mainly to share my blog posts or to participate in my Facebook groups. And psst! I’ve heard that Facebook is about to launch Facebook Audio live – interesting news for all podcast enthusiasts like me!

Bettina and her blog Respekt Herr Specht. As a coffee addict I love her interview series „aufgebrüht“ in which she talks to coffee shop founders all over Germany.

Sindy and her blog Mein gewisses Etwas. Looking at her Instagram photos makes me want to start sewing again.

Suse and her blog Ich lebe! jetzt! – Suse blogs about kids, family, and trying to find the balance between family and job life. And most importantly she is one of the organizers of the blogger conference #denkst in Nürnberg. Which is in 2 days! And guess who will be there??? Follow along on my Instagram if you are interested in what’s happening in Nürnberg.

If you have any questions that you would like to ask me – blog- or expat-life-related, personal or related to business, let me know! I’m more than happy to answer your questions and to get to know my blog readers a little bit better.

Always wishing you lots of sunshine, fresh flowers, and your kids‘ laughter :-)

Hopefully not! If you are living in or close to Munich and are interested in expat life (which you most likely are, if you are a regular reader of my blog…), I have a fun event tip for you. Come and join me at the Expat in the City fair at the BMW Welt in Munich on Sunday and hear me talk about the challenges of repatriation!

On Sunday, March 12, 2017 the Expat in the City fair opens its doors from 10 am to 5 pm to all internationals living in Munich. The tickets are free if you order them online in advance; after 10 am they are EUR 10,- at the door.

In preparation for this post I asked Elisabeth Egger and Barbara Bijvank, the event organizers, about their own expat experience. This is what they had to say:

What is your personal Expat experience?
Barbara: I’ve basically been an expat all my life. Through my father’s job we ended up in Qatar and later I lived in Oman for 8 years. As a student I lived in the USA, Canada and Surinam and finally as an adult I ended up in Munich.

Elisabeth: My parents moved to Spain when they were young. I was born and grew up there. So I was already kind of born as an expat ;-) I moved to Munich 21 years ago.

Why did you decide to organize the Expat in the City fair? Was there a key moment in your personal life that made you see the need for such an event?
Barbara: When I moved to Munich, I found myself pretty ‚lost in the city‘. I was looking for a job, but didn’t know how or where. I didn’t speak German as good as I thought I did :). And meeting people wasn’t so easy in a city. When Elisabeth and I met, we found out we had very similar ideas about what was missing in Munich for the international community. It took some time to get from idea to an actual Fair, but when it did it was a pretty amazing ride!

Elisabeth: I moved to Munich 21 years ago where I learned what it is like to set up a new life away from friends, family and an own support network. This journey led me to set up my own language school where I taught German to Expats and helped them set up a network abroad. This is where I met Barbara. She started to learn German with me, we threw together our experiences, strengths, passions and ideas and we ended up setting up an Expat fair for Munich. As Barbara says, a pretty amazing ride!

What do you love most about Expat life?
Barbara: What I like most about expat life is the chance to meet people from all over the world and experience new things. It can be challenging at times, but I think it is so worth it!

Elisabeth: I think Expat life allows us to discover and be curious, to reinvent ourselves and to write our own stories. I think this is a wonderful opportunity to have and this is what we aim to encourage.

The Expat in the City fair offers a wide variety of topics and workshops: exploring Munich with kids, international schools, bilingual education, career services, yoga sessions, and even a craft beer tasting. Child care is also available so you can always bring the whole family!

The blogger event takes place from 3:30 to 5:00 pm in the Bavaria Room and is hosted by Dana from Wanted Adventures. My talk about the challenges of repatriation is scheduled for 4:05 pm. I will be joined by Isil from Move to Munich and Munich Mom blogger Laura. The blogger presentations are followed by a 30-minute Q&A session. So please stay, say hi and ask us all about expat life and blogging!

At this point I also would like to give a shout-out to Dominika from From Munich with Love. She was the one who introduced me to the Expat in the City team and made my participation possible. Thank you, Dominika!

For more information on the programme, the venue and the free tickets please hop over to the website!

I hope to see you on Sunday!

It’s been two weeks already that I went to Hamburg for my first German blog conference, Blogst 2016. I’m still recovering from a very busy weekend while connecting to the many creative people I’ve met, browsing through freshly discovered Instagram feeds and processing the ton of information and inspiration that I gathered over the course of 3 days. I’m sure this blog post is going to bring some structure into my brain since I learn and remember best when I write things down. As I did with my ALT Summit review I’ve decided to walk you briefly through the schedule and share my biggest takeaways with you. Ready? Let’s go!

FRIDAY

The conference started on Friday night with a casual welcome party at the 25hours Number One Hotel in Hamburg Altona, the hotel Jonna from Expatmamas and I and many other attendees stayed at for two nights. It’s a very stylish hotel (it sells the popular Gin Sul in the little lobby shop!), but unfortunately it also has paper-thin walls, at least on the first floor. So glad that I never ever travel without my ear plugs. At the party I met Enja and Sandra from MoKA, a beautiful print and online magazine for book worms, Stephie from What do you fancy, a beauty blogger who filled me in on all the popular beauty You Tuber, and Nina from labelfrei me, a fellow creative from Munich with a very inspirational design blog and Instagram feed. Make sure to check them out!

SATURDAY

Photo credit: Silke Zander for #blogst16

Day 1 started with a warm welcome by Ricarda (23qm Stil) and Clara (tastesheriff), the two organizers of the conference who did an amazing job putting the whole event together! Chapeau! And then the talks and workshops started.

The topic? The Future of Blogging
The speaker? Kirsten Jassies
My takeaway? Video is the future! In 2 years 85% of all online content is going to be video. Focus on interaction with your followers. Only use the social media channels you like. Tell a story with a beginning, middle, and end. Chose collaborations wisely. Network and help each other grow. If you want to dive deeper into the topic, you can watch her talk here.

The topic? Blogging as a Brand
The speaker? Halima Lohbeck
My takeaway? Your blog is your brand and a mirror of your personality. What moves you on a personal level, is the driving force of your blog. This makes your blog unique and special and attracts your readers. So continue to go out there, write about your life and share your world with your audience! Such a motivational speech for all bloggers who deal with self-doubt! Thank you Halima!

The topic? Instagram for Bloggers
The speaker? Heiko Hebig
My takeaway? After hearing from Kirsten that video content is the future, Heiko convinced me to give Instagram Stories (good-bye Snapchat that I’ve hardly ever used) a try and to switch to a business profile (hello analytics!). What else? Frequent posting makes you more visible as does interacting with your followers. Also Instagram is continuously working on the algorithm of the feed. Yeah! There is hope that chronology returns!

The topic? Social Media Law for Bloggers
The speaker? Nina Dierks
My takeaway? Every (German) blog needs an imprint and a data privacy statement; a disclaimer is unnecessary. Any form of advertising (e.g. sponsored post, affiliate link, collaboration) needs to be clearly identified and emphasized visually at the beginning of the post. The average blog reader doesn’t know what an affiliate link is; clearly labeling these as Amazon-Partnerlink or Werbelink is good practice.

The topic? Facebook Ads for Bloggers
The speaker? Jennifer Kosche
My takeaway? Use the Facebook Ads Manager. 1) Define your goal (e.g. more likes for your Facebook page or increasing interaction on a single post?). 2) Determine your target group / budget / time period / location. 3) Design your ad. Be aware that Facebook makes the final decision regarding design and target group. If you have more questions, Facebook Blueprint, an E-Learning platform, is a good resource.

The topic? Collaborations – Why a briefing should become your favorite tool
The speaker? Mel Buml
My takeaway? When collaborating with an agency / company, a briefing helps the „professionette“ blogger to avoid misunderstandings and to be successful. The briefing should determine key information, including the company’s reasons and goals for the collaboration, a description of the company / product, the scope of the collaboration, terms and definitions to be used (or not!), timing, budget, and administrative issues.

Jonna’s and my first Blogst day did not end on this beautiful couch in the Farrow & Ball living room, but with a delicious cheeseburger and Parmesan fries from Burger de Ville, a cool food truck located right in front of the hotel. While enjoying our dinner I experienced first hand how much Social Media and the Internet are influencing my life – in a good way! While my blog brought Jonna into my life, a comment on one of my Instagram photos turned out to be a great conversation starter. „Have you met Désirée from Jokihu yet?“ asked Svenja. I looked at Désirée’s profile picture and realized that she had been sitting right across from me at the table all this time. What a great way to connect!

SUNDAY

Armed with a cup of tea (because: first tea, then coffee!) and a Franzbrötchen (yummy!) I was ready for the second day of talks, conversations and more talks.

The topic? Blogging on the Holodeck
The speaker? Christian Riedel
My takeaway? Don’t be scared of the future of blogging. Storytelling is king, and always will be. Remember to look inside yourself – your heart, your personality, your emotions, your interests. That’s the story you should tell. And remember: content without a strategy is art. Content with a strategy is advertising.

The topic? How passion leads to a community and a book
The speaker? Igor Josifovic & Judith de Graff

Photo credit: Silke Zander for #blogst16

My takeaway? I only wrote down one thing (What do people ask you all the time? Put that in a book), the rest of the time I was magnetized by Igor and Judith’s success story. Of course I decided to get the English version of their book Urban Jungle – makes a great Christmas present by the way – and to add more plants to my home.

The topic? Time Management
The speaker? Heike Niemöller
My takeaway? Create your own weekly blog schedule. Make sure to divide your time between planning and production days. Find the tools that work for you (e.g. Trello, Coschedule, Later). Photoshop: save recurrent steps as actions; create templates for blog photos. Want to dive even deeper into that topic? You can find Heike’s presentation on her blog!

The topic? About blogger superheros and your blogger super powers
The speaker? Jörn Hendrik Ast

My takeaway? There are four types of blogger superheros: entrepreneur, maker, fighter, helper. Identify who you are, come up with a clear strategy / goal and do your thing.

The topic? Reach, fame & glory – How influencer relations should work
The speaker? Daniel Rehn, Lisa Tihanyi & Anna Luz de Leon
My takeaway? A very heated discussion with controversial opinions on: Is it ok for bloggers to do content for free (to be featured in a magazine or blog for example)? What amount should bloggers get paid for a blog post (there was lots of talk about a basic allowance plus reach but a concrete number was never mentioned)? How should agencies approach bloggers? Why do bloggers and journalists have such a controversial relationship? Lots of food for thought, for sure.

And then – Blogst 2016 was over!

I headed back to the airport right away, completely exhausted, full of new ideas, and ready to hug my family and sleep in my own bed.

Thank you Clara and Ricarda for organizing this event! You did an amazing job! And thank you Jonna for being my Blogst partner – it was so much fun to be there with you!

Back in February I put together a list of 99 things I wanted to do before I went back to Germany. One thing on the list was to get a ticket to the Blogst 2016 conference in Hamburg. Which turned out to be almost impossible! The tickets literally sold out in milliseconds. But luckily I have my online-now-real-life friend Jonna from expatmamas.de at my side. Back in June (when I was frantically refreshing the Blogst-page on my phone while watching my daughter’s cheerleading performance) Jonna made the impossible possible: she snatched not one, but two tickets to Blogst 2016. One for her, one for me!

So this Saturday and Sunday it is finally time for me to attend <del>a</del> the (?) German blog conference. And I’m so so excited! I’m going to travel to Hamburg today to catch up on everything (life, kids, work, and, of course, the outcome of the election) with my really good friend who I haven’t seen in forever. Three years to be precise. To a night of great conversations, lots of laughter, and gin tonics!

After Friday night it’s going to be all about blogging, social media, networking, creativity and inspiration. I can’t wait to get to meet Mama Mia, Berlin Mitte Mom, Gourmet Guerilla – to name only a few of the speakers – in person. I have been following them online for a while, but it always makes such a difference to meet an online persona in real life. And who knows which fun, creative, inspiring blogging enthusiasts I’m going to add to my blog reading list after the weekend!

It was only at the beginning of this year that I attended my first blog conference ever: ALT Summit in Salt Lake City which is THE conference for bloggers in the United States. It was a hugely inspiring event that I’m still profiting from today. Now I’m hoping that my bar for Blogst is not raised too high… And that bloggers in Germany are as welcoming, supportive, and positive as their American counterparts.

Time to pack my business cards, the glitter outfit, and tons of reading material for the long journey up North. Make sure to check back on Instagram to get a real-life update on my Blogst experience.

See you back here real soon!

TINA

It happens again and again. And it’s always really exciting! Will they recognize me? Do they look like the picture they send me? Do I look like the picture on my blog today? What do I do if we don’t have anything to talk about, if we run out of topics after only a few minutes? By now you might be wondering what I’m talking about. Well, about blind dates, of course! I’ve had several since I started this blog. And I’m loving it!

Writing a blog is a very solitary activity. You spend hours at your computer, writing, sharing, researching, taking pictures, curating, editing photos, reading, commenting, learning, tweaking, brainstorming, crafting, styling…

Interaction with or feedback from readers do not happen on a regular basis, not just on your blog. And in your offline life you tend to avoid talking too much about your blog because your family and friends are a) not as enthusiastic about blogging as you are, b) maybe not really interested in the topics you are writing about or c) generally don’t read <del>your</del> blog(s).

So on these rare occasions that someone reaches out to you and makes the effort to actually send you a personal e-mail asking you for advice, information, recommendations, a translation or wants to meet you in person, this entire blogging journey suddenly makes sense! Of course, you say „YES“ to a cup of coffee (especially if you are a coffee lover like me), a lunch or dinner date. Yes, it feels weird to meet someone who only knows your „online“ identity and you don’t know anything about. Yes, you make sure that you tell your husband where you are going. And no, you won’t regret it!

Because it’s these personal connections that are important and that keep you going. Not the Zillion (or 5) Likes or Shares on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. It’s that single person you are able to help, who you can connect to other people, for whom you can make (expat) life a little bit easier just because you’ve been sharing your story and your experiences on the internet.

I’ve met the most friendly, inspiring, wonderful people on my blind dates. And I would like to thank each and every one of you (and if you think that I’m talking about you, I probably am ;-)): thank you for finding me on the internet, reaching out to me and meeting me in person (or on Skype). These blind dates where I get to listen to your life story, am inspired by your thoughts and ideas and might even be able to answer your questions or move you in the right direction, all of this means much more to me than you might imagine! Thank you, thank you, thank you for your e-mails, Facebook messages, and WhatsApp texts. And, of course, thank you for all of your comments, likes, and shares! Without these, no-one would ever be able to find me and my blog in this confusing and humongous world-wide web of today’s internet!

So here you have it: I go on blind dates. And I’m loving it! Have you ever been on a (non-romantic) blind date? Do you have online connections that became actual real-life friendships? I would love to hear your stories and you are more than welcome to shoot me an e-mail at info@. Who knows – you might be my next blind date!

Welche drei Schlagworte beschreiben deinen Blog?
Expat Life, USA, Rückkehr nach Deutschland

Am besten lernt man on the way.

Gute Frage.

Was ist aktuell Dein größtes Blog-Problem?

Was ist Dein Herzenswunsch?

And it was so much more than that: incredibly good and professional speakers, a schedule packed with tons of information, all sorts of goodies from sponsors open for collaborations, cool fun parties every day (all day), and the most inspiring, creative and stylish (!) crowd I’ve ever been a part of. My head is still spinning, my office is still a mess, and I still have the biggest smile on my face.

Want to know more about ALT? I thought I’d walk you briefly through the conference day by day, since I know that a lot of you have no idea how a blog conference (in the United States) looks like. Guess what? Neither did I! I’m also going to share my biggest takeaways from the sessions I attended. Let’s go!

ALT Summit 2016 – Day 1

I flew out to Salt Lake City, Utah, on a Wednesday, checked into my hotel and walked two blocks to the conference venue: The Grand America Hotel – one of the most beautiful hotels I’ve ever seen (I’ll write a separate post about it later). Bright yellow ALT signs led the way to the registration desk where I got my name tag and swag bag (= a goodie bag).

The Early Bird Sessions had already started, so I dived (dove for Non-Southeners ;-) right in:

The topic? Designing a Life you Love
The speaker? Samantha Ettus
My takeaway? Share your personal story and explain what holds you back. A solution might come from the person sitting next to you.

Samantha asked for volunteers in the audience who would be willing to share their stories. Looking back now I’m really surprised that throughout the conference I connected with almost all of these women who volunteered beyond a simple business card exchange. Must have been so much easier for me to approach them since they had already given me a glimpse into their personal life.

After that I attended a delicious dinner sponsored by Minted and took my first ever (!) Uber ride back to my hotel.

ALT Summit 2016 – Day 2

The next day started with four keynote talks in the Grand Ballroom. My favorite keynote was given by Mariam Nacify, the CEO of Minted – she talked about the history and the future of shopping and how we as bloggers are going to be the content curators for the masses. Loved it!

Photo taken by Justin Hackworth or Brooke Dennis for Alt Summit

And sorry that I have to name drop here, but Sarah Michelle Gellar was also one of the keynote speakers, presenting her company Foodstirs.

My day continued with these breakout sessions:

The topic? How To Find Your Way To Your Dream Job
The speakers? Jodi Levine, Amanda Kingloff, Rachel Hoffstetter
My takeaway? Do everything that you do well. You never know who is watching. / Just ask. If they say no, ask again. Eventually someone will say yes. / Allow yourself time to step away and play.

The topic? The First Steps to Making Money With Your Blog
The speakers? Miranda Anderson, Eva Jorgensen, Reichel Broussard, and the one and only Alison Faulkner
My takeaway? Brand don’t only need numbers – they need your creativity. / Keep a spreadsheet of all the companies you would like to work with. / Sign up for an affiliate program; embed the code directly to your blog and not to every single post. / With online courses you can connect to your audience on a completely new level. / Become a problem-solver for your audience.

The topic? Podcasting 101
The speakers? Taylor Bradford, Bryn Huntpalmer
My takeaway? How to start a podcast, get noticed on iTunes, which equipment I would need and that I could either edit the podcast myself (in Garageband) or hire a freelance editor. Oh, and also that nobody likes to hear their own voice in the beginning, but everybody gets used to it eventually!

The day ended with a party. The theme: Starry Starry Night!

ALT Summit 2016 – Day 3

On my third day I headed straight to the help desk where you could talk to various experts and ask for advice. I talked to Liz Stanley, a blogging coach, and asked her in which direction I should go with my blog in terms of reaching a bigger audience and broaden my topics. She had some really good advice and I think she pushed me in the right direction. Hopefully you will be able (and approve of!) to see the changes here soon.

After that I headed straight to the Roundtables – 19 experts covering various blog-related topics in very short mini sessions. I won’t bore you with the details; you get a good impression of my direction by simply scanning over the topics.

All about the Google AdWords Keyword Planner Jamie Dorobek (pictured below)

Write a Book Proposal That Can’t Be Ignored Rachelle Doorley

How To Get a Book Deal, Make The Book And Promote It Merrilee Liddiard

What You Need To Know To Hire a Website Designer Joanna Dee

As if my head wasnt’t already full of ideas, there were still three more breakout sessions to got to:

The topic: Beginning Social Media
The speakers: Asia Rau Vinton, Lorena Garcia, Sakura Considine
My takeaway: Treat your Facebook page as a landing page since everybody is using it. / Brand your grid on Instagram. / Pinterest works. It just takes time. / Share the love by curating content throughout the week.

The topic: How To Win At Content (In a Platform Driven World)
The speakers: Meg Keene, Maddie Eisenhart
My takeaway: Nowadays everything is a blog. So how do I get people to me? Look at the metrics to find out what really works. Focus on that. Update, optimize and repurpose (good) old content on social media. Promote your page by paying the minimal advertising amount. Otherwise it will NEVER show up in people’s feed. That’s just how Facebook works.

The topic? Workshop: Build Your Business Like a Boss + Learn How To Charge What You Are Worth
The speaker? Cyndie Spiegel
My takeaway? You get back what you put out there. / Become comfortable in talking about finances. / You can always change the price – it’s your business.

And finally, Elle Luna, the speaker of the closing keynote, gave a very inspirational, almost spiritual talk on creativity.

ALT Summit 2016 ended with 7 Mini Parties, one more fun than the other: Paparazzi Ready, Bring Home the Bacon, Marshmallow Mingle…

I flew back to Atlanta on Saturday, but not without saying good-bye to the beautiful Grand America hotel and getting a surprise (or two) for my family.

My Steps Forward?

I have at least 1.000 new ideas for blog posts. I also want to write a book, pitch an article, produce a podcast, sign up for affiliate programs, hire a web designer, design an e-course, approach sponsors, collaborate with other bloggers… Oh, the places I could go!!! Haven’t I told you that my head is spinning??? Yes, I know the truth. I won’t be able to realize all of the above mentioned. At least not at the same time. Ha! Stay tuned.

Next blog conferences on my list? BLOGST 2016 in Berlin, Germany, ALT Summit 2017 in Palm Springs, California, and Blogtacular 2017 in London! Hey, a girl can dream, right?

PS: You know what the best part of the entire trip was? Coming home in the middle of the night, sneaking into the kids‘ rooms and seeing their cute little faces. There might have been a tear or two ;-)

I’m excited, I’m nervous, I know but a single person (hey Autumn ;-)), I’m overwhelmed already and I don’t have a plan (which is so not me). So today I’m going to:

print the schedule,

sort out all my outfits (with a last-minute trip to the mall to buy a skirt for the „Starry Night“ party),

pack my bags,

update my podcast library and Kindle with new material,

and try not to worry about my family (strep throat, coughs and runny noses, work and more work). They’ll be fine!

As for me, my plan is to learn a lot, meet new people, make some great connections and have a LOT of fun! If you want to follow along, head over to my Instagram account where I’ll keep you updated on what’s happening at ALT.

See you back here next week :-)
