It has officially started – the expat „Kaufrausch“ or shopping spree! I used to laugh about my expat friends who were getting ready to move back to Germany and their endless shopping lists. As if you can’t buy anything in Germany! Well, now that I’m in their position I understand what this is all about: it’s not so much the money-saving aspect (though some things are way cheaper here). It’s nostalgia. It’s making sure to be surrounded by keepsakes that remind you of good old times. In everyday situations. And also during the harder times. In a way the shopping spree is part of the „getting ready to leave“-process. Which we I fully accept… Enjoy Link Love #3 and have a great weekend!
1 – I hope I can convince my daughter’s school to organize a viewing of this documentary – screen time is already an ongoing battle in our house and my kids don’t even have their own devices yet! (via littleyears)
2 – How the meaning of the German proposition „über“ changed over the years. And other interesting facts about language change in the NYT crossword puzzles.
3 – Smoothies bowls for breakfast? Delicious. And always Instagram-worthy…
4 – What’s it’s like not to be white and male in Hollywood.
5 – Have you booked your trip to the beach yet? Maybe after reading yesterday’s post? No matter if you did or did not, at some point this year you’ll face it: wearing a bikini or a swimsuit. Before you do, read this and then go and have fun in the water (via Secret Posts by Hollywood Housewife)!
I guess my shopping list would be endless… ;-) I enjoyed your links – thanks so much for sharing! Have a great wewkend!
Rosie, my shopping list is endless ;-) But not my budget… Have a great weekend!

„Kaufrausch“ goes both ways… whenever I visit Germany, I always leave room in my suitcase for things to bring back from the „mother land“ ;)
P.S. Came here through Nancy’s blog (Fuzzy Facts).
Well, at least that’s good for both economies, right? And welcome to my blog :-)
